Welcome

Welcome to OurCocina.  OurCocina's name is a combination of both English and Spanish meaning Our Kitchen. "Kitchen" is used both to describe the workplace and where the classes are held, but also in a metaphorical way. The kitchen is a universal place for learning; among family members, friends, acquaintances and co-workers. We firmly believe that language is essential to growth and success both in the community and personally. Language allows people to reach their full potential by opening doors for new opportunities and jobs that could be life changing. Whether you are able to interview at your dream company, or give your child a head start in school, language is the single most important tool in building the life you want.

Here at OurCocina we strongly value our community and cherish the sense of unity that comes with it.  We believe in the power of helping our neighbors and know that when the tables are turned they will be there to help us as well.  Communication is a key factor in both personal and professional success and we felt it was time to step forward and help those in our community who were falling behind due to language barriers.  If we can help just one person accomplish their goal of learning English, then we’ve already set the wheel in motion, and the possibilities are endless.
